Location: Across Northampton, Wellingborough, Corby, Kettering campus
Contract type: One-year fixed-term (with potential for permanent)
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £25,961 FTE
Start date: October 2025

BACKGROUND

Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club was formed in 1880, when Reverend Samuel Wathen Wigg identified rugby as a way to channel the energies of some of the county’s more troubled youngsters. More than 140 years on, Northampton Saints Foundation continues his legacy, using the power of sport and the values of rugby to INSPIRE, SUPPORT and EDUCATE thousands of people each year. Our education and social inclusion programmes inspire the current generation to learn, develop new skills, increase confidence and where appropriate return to education, training or employment.

ROLE

As an Employability Tutor (16+) at Northampton SaintsFoundation,you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of employability courses across our 16+ programmes helping the Foundation inspire, support and educate using the values of rugby to positively impact young people.

The successful candidate will be honest,hardworking, they will have a good understanding of the Foundation’swork acrossa broad range of programmes and demographics. They will be aware of the impact of their work on young people aged 16 and above as they transition to careers and pathways suited to their individual need.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Planning, teaching and assessment on our Employability programmes ensuring high quality and holistic learning.
* Connecting with, building and maintaining positive relationships withour delivery partners
* Planninga range of curriculum of activities, including enrichment and sporting activities to re-engage vulnerable young people, whilst creating progressionroutesfor all students on programme, supporting them to identify their next stepsineducation, training or employment.
* To monitor and review the curriculum and effectiveness of our Employability programmes at the Foundation maintaining the highest standards through a creative and innovative approach to the curriculum.
* To positively understand and embed the Foundations vision and values into planning and delivery of our Employability programmes.
* Supporting young people at their individual, family or agency meetings as required.
* Actively promote equality & diversity and safeguarding ensuring these principles are included into all teaching and learning.
* To ensure high standards of health, safety and behaviour management whilst delivering Foundation programmes.
* Ensuring quality assurance and continuous development across employability programmes.

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

* A recognised teaching qualification is essential (Minimum level 4 in Education and training or equivalent)
* Ability to communicate effectively to conduct professional, progressive relationships with children, young people, and adults.
* Ability towork asa teamas well as using your own initiative.
* Committed todemonstratingthe higheststandards to our young people to inspire them to success.
* Comprehensive knowledge of child protection and safeguarding protocols.
* Experience and knowledge of level 2 qualifications, the marking and outcome requirements.
* Experience of working with young people, ideally those from challenging backgrounds, with the ability to inspire success and support needs.
* Excellent behaviour management and organisational skills.
