Key Responsibilities
1. Support pupils with special educational needs, both individually and in small groups
2. Assist the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities
3. Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
4. Support pupils with personal care where required
5. Help create a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment
6. Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teaching staff
7. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals
8. Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety guidelines
Person Specification
Essential:
9. Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
10. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
11. Strong communication and teamwork skills
12. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
13. Ability to support pupils with diverse needs, including behavioural, emotional, or physical needs
Desirable:
14. Relevant qualifications ( Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent)
15. Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs
16. Training in behaviour management, Team Teach, or similar
