Job Description Construction Delivery Manager Are you ready to play a key role in one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects? The Opportunity At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. This is your chance to be part of a once-in-a-generation project. As a Construction Delivery Manager, you’ll oversee a specific area of the works, ensuring smooth coordination of construction activities. You’ll work closely with logistics, planning, and delivery teams to keep everything on track, while liaising with contractors and stakeholders to ensure high standards and timely progress. Reporting to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager, you’ll be instrumental in turning plans into reality. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be the driving force behind the safe and efficient delivery of your section of the works. From supporting contract partners to coordinating logistics and planning, you’ll ensure that every element of construction is aligned and progressing smoothly. Your presence on site will be key to identifying and resolving issues before they escalate. You’ll monitor daily activities, maintain detailed site logs, and escalate concerns when needed. Your proactive communication with health and safety, quality, logistics, and other teams will help maintain momentum and ensure compliance with project standards. You’ll also lead daily briefings and meetings with contractors, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed. Your role will also involve conducting safety and assurance inspections, supporting project health and safety initiatives, and maintaining clear communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager to ensure all activities are effectively managed and reported. Who You Are You bring solid experience in delivering complex construction projects, with a strong grasp of sequencing, resource planning, and recovery strategies. A background with a mechanical or electrical bias in construction would be particularly beneficial, helping you navigate the technical aspects of the role with confidence. You understand your responsibilities under CDM Regulations and can produce clear, concise reports that inform and drive action. You’re a natural collaborator who builds trust and encourages diverse perspectives. With excellent organisational and communication skills, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain focused under pressure. You hold tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent vocational training, and ideally have SMSTS or IOSH certification. You’re results-driven, take ownership of your work, and manage multiple stakeholders with confidence. Experience in high-security or nuclear environments is a plus, but not essential if you’ve worked on large-scale civil, building, or MEH projects.
