Overview
BAE Systems are looking for an experienced and skilled Aircraft Technician to join their team at RAF Coningsby. The ideal candidate will undertake a range of detailed maintenance activities on aircraft and components, demonstrating a strong ability in diagnostics and troubleshooting
Skills
1. Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering or a military equivalent.
2. Minimum qualification: City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or equivalent.
3. Must hold a B2 Licence.
4. Extensive experience in Typhoon Q and Typhoon Maintenance is essential.
5. In-depth knowledge of Depth Maintenance documentation (ESS/IMS) and associated toolsets.
6. Strong understanding of quality procedures, processes, and specifications within an Approved Maintenance Organisation (MAOS MIL Pt145).
The Job
7. Perform detailed maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on aircraft or components, ensuring airworthiness.
8. Supervise and delegate tasks to team members, ensuring work is completed to schedule and according to safety standards.
9. Manage and monitor performance against delivery targets at a tactical level, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
10. Resolve faults, conduct repairs, modifications, and system tests, ensuring work meets the approved technical standards.
11. Provide leadership and guidance to your team, helping to develop their skills through formal assessments, training, and on-the-job experience.
12. Maintain compliance with Part 145 procedures, including documentation of all activities and management of airworthiness records.
13. Promote safety and risk management within the team, managing hazards proactively.
14. Support the Maintenance Manager in reviews and escalating issues as necessary.
