Senior Business Analyst (contract X 2)

* Rate: £460 per day (inside IR35)
* Duration: 3 months contract, extension likely
* Location: Newcastle or Manchester
* Working pattern:1-2 days per week in the office
* Clearance: BPSS
We’re looking for two Senior Business Analysts to join a respected consultancy team delivering meaningful work for a high-profile digital service. You’ll be based in Newcastle or Manchester, working closely with multidisciplinary teams on the next phase of a Data Strategy and Data Platform – defining the North Star vision, future capabilities, data onboarding, and a new data governance framework.
Essential requirements
* Recent (within the past 2 years) experience as a Business Analyst/Senior BA within UK central government
* Experience translating customer needs into data logic (measures, dimensions, attributes) with business definitions and sourcing rules
* Basic data profiling and analysis skills to assess data sources and quality
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Comfortable working closely with digital, technical, and strategic teams
* Able to build effective relationships across multi-functional teams
* Right to work in the UK
The role involves
* Requirements elicitation in a strategic setting to shape direction and remove ambiguity
* Stakeholder engagement across multi-disciplinary functions (Solution Architects, Product Leads, etc.)
* Development of business needs and use cases to frame data platform capabilities
* Options analysis and shaping strategic data choices
* Translating business requirements into clear data-focused deliverables
* Supporting agile/strategic delivery through strong analysis and documentation
* Working closely with technical stakeholders to maintain strategic alignment
* Identifying process/data improvements and practical data solutions
* Contributing to data strategy development and governance frameworks
