This is an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) to join our skilled and dynamic team within Ward 34.
About Ward 34
Ward 34 is the regional inpatient facility for Haematology/Oncology patients. It is a busy, fast-paced ward caring for patients with acute and chronic Haematology/Oncology diagnoses, including cancer, sepsis, and those receiving intensive chemotherapy. Patients are admitted directly from home for elective or emergency care.
Role Responsibilities
Work as part of a team or independently, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Provide high-quality, patient-focused, and holistic care to complex patients in a fast-paced environment.
Support the registered nursing team by performing a range of clinical tasks, direct patient care, and administrative duties.
Work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts, with potential rotation to other parts of the Haematology/Oncology service.
Candidate Requirements
Significant previous experience as a HCSW in an acute setting.
SVQ Level 3 or working towards this qualification.
Ability to work effectively in a team and on your own initiative.
Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and caring for complex patients.
