THE ROLE A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Technologist within our Process Control team. Our team works with state-of-the-art technologies, sensors, and equipment to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance product performance and optimize production processes. The systems we create provide essential data to the Group’s Manufacturing Execution platform, ensuring robust process and quality control throughout the NSG group. Key responsibilities: Creating and enhancing automatic inspection systems from concept through to implementation. Providing novel and innovative solutions to complex inspection problems. Working with many packages from legacy systems through to high level programming languages. Developing and implementing inspection systems and instruments to maintain top-tier product and process quality. Partnering with R&D and production teams to identify and deliver instruments and process improvements safely and effectively. Providing both on-site and remote technical support, while upgrading and maintaining existing systems. Keeping up to date with the latest technologies and innovations in inspection & process control. Carry out technical assessments of commercially available systems. Occasional overseas travel may be part of your role. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? You and your Skills 2:1 degree or higher in a STEM subject with 5 or more years of experience. Experience of optical systems and their practical applications. Experience of industrial metrology and precision measurement techniques. Experience of software development, including, mathematical algorithm design, image processing and C# or other languages. Possess hands-on laboratory skills and experimental problem-solving. Have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Have a creative and innovative mindset and thrives on solving complex challenges. High attention to detail. Have solid project and time management capabilities.
