Overview
As a Test Manager at Gentrack, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality planning and delivery of the test effort, contributing to Gentrack's success and customer satisfaction. You will provide strategic direction for the test team, partner with tech leads and architects to align engineering and test practices, and ensure timely delivery of test deliverables. You will also engage in hands-on testing, mentor team members across EMEA delivery engineering, and support testing activities in implementation projects with customers.
You will work closely with the Test Analysts, Engineering Managers, Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Project and Test Managers, Pre-Sales teams and Customer Success Managers.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to P1 and P2 incident investigations and outcomes
* Contribute to the Testing Community of Excellence
* Support Engineering managers recruiting Test Analyst roles
* Ensure teams understand and follow best practice to complete testing deliverables for BAU assignments and projects
* Provide strategic direction for the test team, undertake test planning, scope the testing strategy, estimate effort and duration, and determine resource and environment requirements
* Ensure test deliverables are produced on time, meet quality standards defined internally and by the client, and are reusable and auditable
* Undertake hands-on testing
* Lead key testing activities in implementation projects, from planning and control through testing analysis and design, test execution, issue triage and reporting
* Guide and mentor other team members
* Foster a positive culture of technical best practice within the team and evolution of Delivery Engineering
* Drive organizational change and a culture of continuous improvement
* Facilitate team growth with an "experiment and learn" mindset
* Create an inclusive, diverse environment where people can do their best work
* Accurate recording of timesheets and charging of services time
Qualifications
* 7+ years of commercial Software Testing Experience
* Strong knowledge of software testing lifecycle with Agile, Waterfall, and mixed methodologies
* Proficiency in Testing Management tools: Enterprise Test, Team Foundation Server, HPQC, Selenium, SOAPUI, Jenkins, Gherkin, and JIRA
* Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Design, Enterprise Database, AWS, Java or .Net, GIT, Web Services, CRM, and Utilities industry
* Positive attitude and proactive in driving test best practice cross-regionally
* Passion for excellence and commitment to be the best
* High energy, sound judgment, and determination with a sense of urgency
* Attention to detail, relationship management, and interpersonal skills
* Open-minded consultative approach with ability to give and receive constructive feedback
* Creative problem-solving ability
* Relevant tertiary education, ISTQB Foundation certification, and 2 years of relevant work experience
* Specialized skills in Billing systems, CRM knowledge
