We are seeking a highly experienced and professional Head Housekeeper to lead the daily operations of a prominent private residence. Working in close partnership with the House Manager, you will lead a dedicated team to ensure an impeccable environment for the Principals and their three children. This is a senior leadership role for a \"lead by example\" professional who can manage both the technical aspects of a high-spec estate and the delicate nuances of a busy family home.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Personnel Management
* Direct Supervision: Manage rotas, performance, and daily task lists for 2 Housekeepers and 1 Laundress.
* Standards & Training: Implement and uphold \"House Standards,\" ensuring every task—from silver polishing to bed-making—meets the family's exact specifications.
Estate Maintenance & Specialized Care
* Technical Expertise: Oversee the specialized cleaning and preservation of fine finishes, including marble, silk, and antiques.
* Wardrobe Management: Collaborate with the Laundress to maintain wardrobes to a couture standard, including seasonal organization.
Management & Administration
* Inventory & Procurement: Manage the stock and purchase of all household cleaning supplies, toiletries, and dry goods.
* Financial Oversight: Oversee petty cash for the department and assist with monthly expense reporting.
* SOP Development: Update the \"House Manual\" detailing family preferences, guest protocols, and emergency procedures.
Service & Hospitality
* Front-of-House: Assist with formal table service and guest greeting as required.
* 5-Star Turn-down: Oversee the evening turn-down service to ensure a luxury hotel atmosphere for Principals and guests.
Candidate Profile
* Experience: 7+ years in UHNW private households, with essential experience in a \"Head\" role managing at least 2–3 staff members.
* Technical Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of COSHH, delicate fabric care, and Smart Home technology.
* Disposition: Highly professional and emotionally intelligent, with the ability to lead a team through mentorship and high standards.
* Family-Friendly: Must be comfortable working in a home with three children (though this is not a childcare role).
