Overview
Our busy nurse-led community specialist Wound Care Service is looking for an experienced, part-time Administrator to support the small team based at Crawley Hospital. An integral member of the team, our clinicians rely on Administrators to keep things running smoothly and to time. This is a great opportunity to start or develop your NHS administration career, working in the specialist field of wound care which continues to be a high-profile, national patient safety issue.
Working to agreed processes and procedures, you will work on your own initiative as you prioritise and manage your day-to-day workload. As an important member of the team, you will contribute to service development for both the administrative and clinical processes to maximise efficiency and ensure a good patient experience. The wound care nurses provide a programme of training throughout the year which will involve liaising with venues, coordinating clinical diaries and advanced word-processing ability.
Responsibilities
* Support the small Wound Care Service team and ensure administrative processes run smoothly and on time.
* Plan and manage day-to-day workload with initiative, following agreed processes and procedures.
* Contribute to service development for administrative and clinical processes to maximise efficiency and patient experience.
* Coordinate programme of training, liaise with venues, and maintain clinical diaries.
* Provide information to attendees and manage information flow for training events.
* Book venues and assist with planning a rolling training programme.
* Cover for administration colleagues as required and maintain confidentiality of information.
* Maintain minute-taking where applicable and support stock-control and invoice processes.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience as an Administrator with great attention to detail when handling confidential information.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to work with a variety of referrers (e.g., SCFT nurses and nursing home teams).
* Clear communication, responsiveness, and adaptability to day-to-day changes.
* Accurate keyboard skills; previous minute-taking is advantageous.
* Familiarity with stock-control and associated invoice processes is advantageous.
