Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, with responsibility for production planning and scheduling. This is a key leadership role focused on delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective production, ensuring output meets customer demand and business requirements. You will lead a team of production staff and take ownership of planning activities, working closely with Health & Safety, Quality, Technical, and Commercial teams. The role requires strong leadership, a hands-on approach, and the ability to balance operational delivery with forward planning. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage day-to-day production operations to meet output, quality, and cost targets Take ownership of production planning, including daily and weekly scheduling Ensure production aligns with customer demand and business priorities Lead, manage, and develop production teams to drive performance and engagement Monitor KPIs such as output, efficiency, and on-time delivery Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards Work closely with internal teams to maintain smooth operational flow Identify risks and production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions Drive continuous improvement using Lean, 5S, or similar methods Maintain accurate reporting of production and planning performance Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews as required What Were Looking For Essential: Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar role within manufacturing Strong leadership and people management skills Experience in production planning and scheduling alongside operations Good understanding of Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to analyse data, prioritise effectively, and make sound decisions Desirable: Degree or professional qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Operations Management Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma Knowledge of ISO standards such as 9001, 14001, or 45001 Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment Benefits 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays Pension scheme Private medical insurance Discretionary bonus scheme Life assurance up to 4x annual salary
