We
are looking for an enthusiastic
and skilled Butcher to join our award-winning farm shop team. You'll be working
with high-quality locally sourced meat preparing a full range of cuts,
maintaining excellent standards of food safety, and delivering outstanding
customer service.
This
role also involves receiving full bodies of beef and breaking them down
in-house - so applicants must be physically capable and confident handling
whole carcasses.
Key
responsibilities:
* Cutting,
preparing, and displaying meat products to a high standard. Breaking down
whole bodies of beef and other carcasses
* Receiving
meat deliveries (manual handling involved)
* Advising
customers on cuts, cooking methods, and product origin
* Maintaining
strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times
* Ensuring
displays are well-presented, fully stocked, and appealing
* Supporting
stock rotation and inventory management
* Helping
to maintain a clean and well-organised butchery environment
* Working
collaboratively with the wider farm shop team
* Weekend
work is essential, as part of the regular rotation
Requirements:
* Previous
butchery experience preferred -but not essential, as we are happy to train
the right person
* Ability
to work confidently with knives and machinery (training provided if
needed)
* Physically
strong enough to handle full carcasses and cold room stock movement
* High
personal standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation
* Excellent
customer service skills
* A
positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Reliable,
punctual, and able to work as part of a team
* Comfortable
working in a busy, customer-facing environment
