We have an exciting opportunity to join our Emergency Department team as a Receptionist.
The Emergency Department Reception team works a flexible full rotation 24-hour rota, which includes days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
The successful candidate will undertake a full training plan and will be mentored throughout.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide a positive and approachable Reception service to all patients arriving at the Emergency Department.
2. Support patients in using the eTriage system to book into the department.
3. Register/book in patients unable to use the eTriage system, check patient demographics for accuracy, and print associated paperwork.
4. Scan and file all completed Emergency Department documentation, ensuring safe storage and control until disposal.
5. Check all returned patient documentation for referrals and send off referral paperwork as necessary.
6. Prioritize own workload within a busy Reception environment.
7. Ensure the safe use of office equipment within the service.
8. Answer telephone enquiries professionally and confidentially, redirecting calls to appropriate departments and wards.
9. Liaise with Emergency Department nursing and medical staff, as well as other hospital staff as appropriate.
