Credit Manager – Property Development Finance, Northampton

Role Purpose: As a Credit Manager, you will maintain the credit quality of new loans using the company's Credit Models and Policies, ensuring lenders do not take undue risks. Extensive development finance knowledge and experience are essential.
Responsibilities include:
* Adhering to sanction limits according to the company’s sanctioning matrix.
* Assisting in developing and recommending loan policies and procedures for board approval.
* Ensuring credit reports comply with policies.
* Reporting exceptions and risks to the Head of Credit.
* Identifying policy shortcomings and recommending improvements.
* Staying updated on rates, activities, and regulatory issues.
* Conducting pre-application discussions with Relationship Directors.
* Participating in Deal Forum and Borrower Review Forum.
* Responding to pricing requests and credit questions within service level agreements.
* Checking loan agreements for compliance before release.
* Monitoring post-deal development loans and providing updates.
* Attending relevant department meetings to promote credit knowledge.
* Training and supporting new staff.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
* Extensive property development funding credit experience.
* Strong decision-making and communication skills.
* Awareness of wider business impacts.
* Attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* GCSE level education or equivalent.
* Experience in FCA-regulated environments and financial services sector.
* Excellent knowledge of loan, security, and financial documents.
