Role Overview:
As a
System Engineer
in our Test & Measurement division, you will design, integrate, and support advanced test systems. You'll work closely with R&D, product, and quality teams to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of measurement solutions used in validation, characterization, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Test System Design & Integration: Develop automated test systems combining hardware instrumentation, software automation, and measurement setups
* HIL & NI Systems: Design, configure, and support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems using NI VeriStand, NI PXI, CompactRIO, and LabVIEW platforms
* Instrumentation Management: Configure, calibrate, and maintain test instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analysers, signal generators, power supplies, RF/microwave instruments, etc.)
* Test Development: Design test plans, procedures, and scripts to validate new products, subsystems, and components
* Automation & Software: Build and maintain test automation frameworks using Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C#, or NI TestStand, VeriStand
* Troubleshooting & Analysis: Diagnose and resolve issues with test hardware, software, and interfaces; analyse measurement data for trends and anomalies
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, design, and manufacturing engineers to align test strategies with design requirements
* Reporting & Documentation: Generate technical reports, maintain test documentation, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability
* Support Manufacturing & Production: Provide test solutions for production lines, including scaling lab tests into high-volume manufacturing environments
* Compliance & Standards: Ensure testing adheres to international standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, ISO) and customer requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
* Strong hands-on experience with test & measurement equipment (Keysight, NI, Rohde & Schwarz, Tektronix, etc.)
* Practical experience with NI platforms (LabVIEW, TestStand, VeriStand, PXI, CompactRIO)
* Expertise in HIL system development and integration
* Solid understanding of analog, digital, RF, or high-speed systems
* Familiarity with data acquisition, signal processing, and system modeling
* Knowledge of communication protocols (USB, Ethernet, GPIB, SPI, I²C, CAN, LIN, PCIe, etc.)
* Strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software domains
* Ability to manage multiple test projects with attention to detail and deadlines
* Excellent communication skills for writing technical reports and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Nice-to-Have
* Experience in automotive, aerospace, or semiconductor validation
* Background in model-based design testing (e.g., Simulink/Matlab integration with NI VeriStand)
* Certifications (e.g., NI Certified LabVIEW Developer/Architect, or vendor-specific)
* Exposure to real-time and FPGA-based test systems
* Understanding of compliance/regulatory testing (EMC, RF standards, safety, etc.)
