Practice Educator Palliative Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated registered nurse to join the Department of Clinical and Professional Development, working collaboratively across Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership.
* Are you experienced in delivering effective judgments and decisions for people with palliative care needs and care around dying?
* Are you committed to making a difference in a person’s care experience?
* Do you possess excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills?
This post will involve providing and developing palliative care education for health and social care staff in the Scottish Borders. It includes maintaining a presence in various care environments by delivering direct patient care, role modeling, and facilitating excellent practice in a coaching role. The role involves discussions with colleagues, assessment and care delivery processes, incorporating current practice, evidence base, and future trends in care. The successful candidate will have a clinical home within the specialist palliative care unit to ensure their professional practice is maintained.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, be a forward-thinking Registered Nurse with a teaching qualification or experience in both formal and informal teaching related to palliative care. Experience in planning and delivering learning is essential.
