Purpose: Training Contract – provide structured training and supervised clinical development while contributing to service delivery
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
Develop clinical skills in all subspecialties of Urology within a teaching Trust.
Participate in peripheral hospital clinics and lists under consultant supervision.
Engage in on‑call duties, research, audit and teaching of doctors in training and medical students.
Work in a multidisciplinary team comprising SpRs, post‑CCT fellows, clinical fellows, CT1s, FY1s and a nurse practitioner team.
Access and utilize educational resources within the Trust’s training framework, including a named educational supervisor and opportunities for study leave.
Salary and Benefits
Salary will be assessed based on experience and skills, aligned to the National Medical and Dental pay circular (basic salary plus any additional remuneration for hours, weekend allowance and enhanced pay).
Entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata) and a generous pension scheme.

Person Specification – Essential Criteria
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
FRCS Urol or equivalent for the senior role.
GMC registration with a licence to practise.
Higher urological training for the senior role.
Evidence of research publication within the last three years.
Portfolio demonstrating progression in line with relevant training curricula.
Minimum of six years of specialty training and holding a relevant higher specialty exam (e.g. FRCP, FRCA).

Sub‑specialist urology interest.
Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement.
Aptitudes and Skills
Effective teamwork across multi‑professional settings.

Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
