PURPOSE OF JOB
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to lead and deliver river and catchment enhancement projects to improve water quality and water resource resilience on the Isle of Wight.
Supporting the ongoing partnership between Southern Water and Natural Enterprise (River Catchment Partner Host) to create and deliver a shared project pipeline plan. This work will cover all stages of development, from concept to design and implementation.
The job holder will be a key member of the Natural Enterprise team, requiring dynamic thinking and lateral problem-solving to identify and develop opportunities, and, where appropriate, successfully deliver them.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and partners, the role has the potential to make a real difference.
Establishing and maintaining strong and effective partnerships is a key aspect of the role.
MAIN DUTIES
* Research and devise a river and river catchment restoration/enhancement project pipeline plan to help improve water quality and water resource resilience
* Deliver river and river catchment restoration/enhancement projects
* Act as a strategic link between Natural Enterprise and Southern Water to help deliver a critical regulatory project and operate as a key member of the NE team, representing the business as and when required
SPECIFIC TASKS (details of main duties)
Research and devise a river and river catchment restoration/enhancements project pipeline plan to help improve water quality and water resource resilience
* Support the identification of key river and river catchment water quality and water resource resilience issues and opportunities
* Research, produce and manage a 'live' project delivery plan, making recommendations on project prioritisation – based upon but not exclusively the Isle of Wight Catchment Management Plan
* Ensure the project plan is regularly reviewed and kept up to date, incorporating internal and external specialist advice as required.
* Secure the required statutory permissions and consents and partner support before delivery commences
* Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with partners and stakeholders
Deliver restoration and/or enhancement river and river catchment projects
* Project manage all delivery aspects of individual projects to include staff, contractors, volunteers and budgets, to ensure projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results.
· Regular liaison and collaboration with volunteers, landowners and local, regional and national partners to ensure successful delivery.
* Be able to assess and manage risks and be responsible for health and safety compliance.
* Facilitate partner activity to help the delivery of aligned enhancement projects.
* Be responsible for all aspects of project reporting, both internal and external. Establish project monitoring protocols to assess project impacts and progress toward achieving defined catchment goals.
* Keeping and mapping of all activities and the analysis of data.
* Be a confident and informed spokesperson on river and river catchment project matters.
Act as a strategic link between Natural Enterprise and Southern Water to help deliver a critical regulatory project and operate as a key member of the Natural Enterprise (NE) Team
· Strategically align the work of the partners.
· Proactively contribute to all aspects of the work of NE, working collaboratively with the Southern Water team.
· Represent NE at external meetings and forums as required.
· Support the NE MD with strategic and operational priorities.
· Carry out the duties of the post with due regard to NE's policies and procedures.
· As a senior member of the Natural Enterprise team, be a positive mentor to junior staff members and encourage and promote best practice.
Carry out such other tasks appropriate to skills, experience and knowledge as may be required by the Managing Director to ensure the smooth running of Natural Enterprise.

Pay: £27,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
