COMMIS CHEF/CHEF DE PARTIE
Laynes opened in 2011 and set out to be the best coffee bar in the city. Since then we've grown in size to incorporate a kitchen and dining space to allow us to serve some of the best breakfast/lunch/brunch around.
THE JOB ROLE
We are looking for a COMMIS CHEF/CHEF DE PARTIE who prefers to work during the day and is happy to get up in the morning.
The position will be 5 days over 7 and with 40 hours per week. We are currently a daytime trading place though there's intention to move into evening service in the future.
THE CANDIDATE
— Will be supporting and communicating directly with the Head and Sous Chefs as well as the business owner
— A genuine interest in the style of food we serve at Laynes as well as ideas on how we can continue to expand the menu
— Good punctuality and happy to start at 7/8am week day mornings. Weekend starts are a little later
— Experience in working in a busy kitchen would be great, we get busy
— Prep the food found in our current dishes as per the direction of the Head Chef
— Present ideas of new dishes and combinations to the kitchen team
— Be aware of allergens and the importance of them within the restaurant
— Have a good awareness of health and hygiene expectations and laws
