About the role
We're hiring our first 3PL Strategy & Partnerships Manager – a pivotal role that will shape the long-term commercial and operational foundations of Ocado's third-party logistics network.
This is not a typical contract management role. You'll oversee £50m+ annual logistics spend, leading Ocado's relationships with 3PL providers to ensure best-in-class service, cost efficiency, and innovation. You'll combine strategic supply chain leadership with commercial contract management, creating joint improvement plans, unlocking growth opportunities, and embedding industry-leading practices.
Due to the role's nature, a full UK driving licence is essential for travel to partner and network sites.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead commercial and contractual management of Ocado's 3PL warehousing and transport partnerships.
* Design and execute long-term 3PL network strategies balancing cost, service, and scalability.
* Act as the key point of contact across Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment.
* Build high-trust partnerships with 3PL providers, driving joint improvement plans and innovation.
* Bring structure to open-book models, validate costs, and set new commercial benchmarks.
* Support performance reviews, onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Translate strategic vision into operational reality across ambient, chilled, and frozen environments.
* Identify opportunities for automation, innovation, and industry-leading practices.
* Ensure the content of any new contracts meets business requirements.
What you'll bring:
* Proven experience managing warehousing and/or transport contracts with 3PLs.
* Strong end-to-end supply chain acumen across FMCG, grocery, or e-commerce.
* Commercial expertise, including open-book and closed-book models.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
* Strong financial literacy – forecasting, budgeting, and cost modelling.
* Collaborative, future-focused mindset with curiosity for new technologies and automation.
* Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites.
* Knowledge of contract structures and tender processes for 3PL services.
