Service Engineer
Hours: 37 hours per week Monday – Friday (plus participation in an out of hours breakdown and repair service on a rota basis)
Location: Vision Products, Pontyclun
Salary: £26,824 pa (GR5)
Vision Products is a Supported Employment Business within the Council, based in Pontyclun. The company provides community equipment servicing, installations, assistive technology, PVCu windows manufacture and retail. We are looking to recruit a Service Engineer to join our Technology & Servicing team providing professional repairs and maintenance of equipment within our community.
You will work with a dynamic friendly and responsive team and meet different clients throughout the daily mobile service schedule. The role involves driving to client homes, performing servicing and repairs on a variety of equipment, recording details of jobs completed on an electronic tablet and relaying any issues to supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive to client homes and service/repair community equipment.
* Record job details electronically on handheld or mobile devices.
* Adhere to LOLER regulations and perform load/weight tests.
* Ensure all equipment is safe by carrying out relevant repairs and servicing.
* Maintain van stock and keep tools/testing equipment in good order.
* Close jobs electronically after completion.
* Report issues to the relevant supervisor or office staff.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Full UK driving licence.
* Experience in testing/fault finding on electrical and mechanical products.
* Competence with hand‑held tools and basic testing equipment.
* Compassionate and patient working with clients of varying needs.
Desirable Attributes
* Previous experience within a similar environment.
* Can‑do attitude and adaptability.
