About the Roles
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting SEN Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Support Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools throughout Portsmouth and Hampshire. These roles support children and young people with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex needs.
Rates (where stated): Support Assistants / Teaching Assistants: £13.75 per hour. Qualified Teachers: Paid to scale.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Assist with learning activities and emotional regulation
* Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
* Support behaviour management strategies
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and school staff
* Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
Who We're Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH (education, care, youth work, or support settings)
* QTS required for teaching roles
* Teaching Assistant or support experience desirable (training can be provided)
* Calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
