Position Overview
On a major civil infrastructure scheme, the Site Agent will be responsibile for overlooking the delivery of multiple civil engineering packages, managing a mixed on-site workforce and ensuring that all works meet the highest standards in health, safety, environmental performance, and quality.
Day Rate
£375–£400 per day
Key Responsibilities
Provide clear, proactive, and visible leadership in all matters relating to health, safety, environment, and quality.
Ensure preparation and effective communication of risk assessments and method statements to site supervisors.
Promote workforce wellbeing and a positive safety culture.
Contribute to buildability reviews and value engineering proposals.
Agree construction methods and schedules with planners and production teams.
Set, monitor, and control resource requirements, production outputs, and overhead targets.
Analyse fully resourced programmes and create operational targets aligned with the overall contract plan.
Lead short-term planning, ensuring the site team and supply chain are briefed and aligned.
Direct, motivate, and manage the project team effectively.
Coordinate the allocation of resources, including selection and management of subcontractors.
Candidate Essentials
Experience
Civil engineering background with proven delivery experience in earthworks, drainage, ducting, and pavement construction, ideally within highways.
Strong technical knowledge across all elements of highway construction.
Experience managing teams and subcontractors in a site-based role.
Familiarity with CDM regulations and relevant testing/specification standards.
Skills & Competencies
Able to work independently and under pressure with a positive, solutions-focused approach.
Skilled in producing RAMS, task briefings, and implementing safety, quality, and environmental systems.
Qualifications
Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
CSCS card and SMSTS.
IOSH Managing Safely.
Temporary Works Supervisor or Coordinator (desirable).
