Contract type: Part Time 12 Month FTC salary c£42,000 pro-rated at c£25,000 based on 21 hours per week plus civil service employer pension contribution of 28%. Higher ranges may be available for exceptional candidates.
Location: Newcastle
Hours: Attendance at site is expected 3 days a week.

About The Job
The Operations Manager leads and coordinates Digital Services (DS) activities within the NAO’s Newcastle office. Reporting to the DS Business & Commercial Manager, the role involves asset, license, contract, and supplier management.
Responsibilities Include
1. Project Management: Managing IT assets, equipment dispatch, and maintenance; coordinating with architects and analysts to ensure standards are met; overseeing local DS service provision including meeting room and computer room operations; liaising with engineers and suppliers; managing incident and event responses.
2. Internal/External Relationships: Engaging with DS management, project teams, staff, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
3. Resources Managed: Managing external consultants, project finances, and coordinating cross-functional project teams.
4. Operational Oversight: Managing local IT assets, procurement, equipment coordination, technical activities, and continuous process improvement.
5. Commercial Activities: Contract management, license management, supplier and financial management, supporting team activities, leading Carbon NetZero initiatives, maintaining financial data, and professional development.
6. Deputising for Office Manager: Covering reception, deliveries, contractor management, room setup, and equipment testing.
