Production Planner – Food Manufacturing
We are currently recruiting for a Production Planner to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and highly organised individual to play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently and meets customer demand.
The Role
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating production schedules and material planning activities to ensure customer requirements are met while maximising efficiency across operations. You’ll work closely with production, supply chain, and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth and effective planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain production and material schedules in line with demand and capacity
* Monitor and adjust plans to ensure optimal service levels and efficient resource utilisation
* Manage inventory levels of finished goods, raw materials, and packaging
* Communicate production plans clearly across relevant teams
* Identify and escalate potential service or supply issues in a timely manner
* Work collaboratively with production and other departments to improve schedule adherence
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within planning and operations
* Provide accurate data and insights for planning and forecasting processes (S&OP/IBP)
* Maintain and improve planning and MRP systems
Skills & Experience
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (experience with ERP systems such as MS Dynamics NAV is desirable)
* Strong communication skills with a good standard of written and spoken English
* Highly numerate with strong analytical ability
* Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
* Understanding of production planning, scheduling, and MRP systems
