Job Title: Shoulder Arthroplasty Business Development Manager – Orthohouse UK

Location: National UK (Field-Based)

Reports to: Sales & Marketing Director

Role Overview

Orthohouse UK is seeking an ambitious, commercially minded Business Development Manager to drive sustainable growth of our Shoulder Arthroplasty portfolio across the UK. This role is central to shaping our national market presence, identifying new opportunities, and building long-term partnerships that expand our customer base.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business development capabilities, a strategic mindset, and proven success in growing healthcare markets. This position provides a unique opportunity to influence market entry strategy, establish new partnerships, and contribute directly to the success of an innovative and fast-growing orthopaedics company.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Growth Strategy

* Develop and execute strategic business plans to deliver growth across NHS and private healthcare sectors.
* Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities, partnerships, and key accounts.
* Drive adoption of Orthohouse UK’s Shoulder Arthroplasty portfolio in new centres, markets, and regions.
* Deliver on agreed growth targets while ensuring sustainable, long-term customer engagement.

2. Market Expansion & Account Management

* Build, nurture, and expand strategic relationships with surgeons, procurement teams, theatre staff, and healthcare decision-makers.
* Lead business development initiatives to secure new product evaluations and establish long-term supply agreements.
* Retain, grow, and optimise existing accounts to maximise market share.

3. Strategic Insights & Market Intelligence

* Monitor and analyse competitor activity, market trends, and clinical developments to shape commercial strategy.
* Provide actionable insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making and future product positioning.
* Maintain accurate and timely business data in the company CRM to support forecasting and strategic planning.

4. Product & Clinical Support (Commercial Context)

* Develop deep expertise across the orthopaedic portfolio and communicate value propositions tailored to customer needs.
* Support clinical teams with product education and training in collaboration with the clinical support function.
* Actively participate in product launches, industry events, and conferences to enhance Orthohouse UK’s profile.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

* Work closely with marketing, operations, and clinical support teams to deliver coordinated customer engagement.
* Provide field-based insights to refine go-to-market strategies, campaigns, and product positioning.
* Contribute to the development of education and training programs for customers and internal teams.


Requirements

* Proven experience sales, ideally within shoulder arthroplasty, orthopaedics, or surgical devices.
* Strong track record of building markets, growing accounts, and securing new business in competitive healthcare sectors.
* In-depth knowledge of NHS procurement pathways and private healthcare models.
* Exceptional commercial acumen with strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Highly organised, entrepreneurial, and results-driven.
* Resilient, adaptable, and motivated to grow a business from the ground up.
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred.
* Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory.
