We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide individual support for two Year 1 pupils with special educational needs. Pupil A: Non-verbal, with high-level Autism Spectrum Disorder Pupil B: Has Down Syndrome Your time will be split between both children, ensuring each receives tailored help in their learning, communication, and emotional development. We are a mainstream Primary school. The hours for this role are 08:30-16:00 Monday to Friday. Please note, you MUST be able to commute to Chesterfield. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils in 1:1 or small group settings, tailoring learning approaches to individual needs. Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development. Support classroom learning activities and adapt resources as needed. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all pupils. Requirements: Experience supporting pupils with SEND, preferably in a school or educational setting. Understanding of behaviour management strategies and individualized support. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff. Patience, empathy, and a positive, restorative approach. Please note that we are a nut-free school.
