Educato is working on behalf of an outstanding SEN school in the Oldham area, seeking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with groups of pupils with Special Educational Needs. The school requires two SEN Teaching Assistants to start in September. One will support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and the other will work with the Autism base. Initially, this is a supply position, but there are opportunities to earn a school contract. The successful candidate will be expected to be ready to work full-time from September 2025.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality support to children with Autism at a school based in Oldham. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting pupils with PMLD
* Supporting pupils with Autism
* Assisting with planning and delivering personalised learning activities
* Helping develop communication, social, and emotional skills
* Contributing to observations, assessments, and progress tracking
* Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure holistic support
Requirements include:
* Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent experience
* Experience with Moving and Handling (especially for pupils with PMLD)
* Desirable: Team Teach certification, experience working with autism, ADHD, or other additional needs
* Graduates in Psychology, Sociology, or Sports are encouraged to apply
* A genuine passion for SEN and understanding of diverse learning needs
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
