The Southwater hub is successfully run by a team of volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to supporting the local community, liaising between the public and the police.
The Role & Key Responsibilities
You will be the first point of contact for members of the public entering the hub. Your role will involve signposting them to the appropriate team or department within Sussex Police, or informing them that their concern is not a policing matter.
Please note, you will not be expected to handle 999 calls or responses.
Key responsibilities include:
* Liaising with the public who visit the Southwater hub.
* Supporting the local community in reporting crimes via the internet.
* Liaising with victims of crime and directing them to relevant departments or agencies.
* Providing advice to the community and signposting as appropriate.
* Acting as a Sussex Police presence in the community.
* Supporting local PSCOs and NPTs in planning community workshops on crime prevention and other crime-related topics such as fraud.
Skills & Experience
* Good understanding of IT.
* Empathetic and understanding of various community issues.
