CAD-IT is seeking an Automotive Service Communications Engineer to serve as the link between engineering and the Aftersales dealer network. Following the launch of new vehicles, technical scenarios are identified by engineering and communicated to the Service Communications team, especially when dealer notifications are required. The role involves understanding, developing, and authoring technical documentation aimed at end consumers within the dealer network.
You will join a company that produces technical publications for clients across automotive, aerospace, rail, industrial, construction, and agricultural manufacturing sectors.
We seek dynamic, engaging individuals with relevant qualifications and/or experience in software engineering, vehicle and master technician roles, electrical integration, mechanical, diagnostic, or technical documentation fields.
Who We’re Looking For:
* Experience working in an OEM environment, familiar with VCATS, ECU, and diagnostic protocols
* High attention to detail with the ability to produce precise technical documentation
* Strong English language skills, including writing, spelling, and punctuation
* Excellent communication and professionalism to liaise across different levels of personnel
* Organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Proficient in preparing and delivering presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
* Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
* Ability to review engineering documents and convert them into accessible formats for non-engineers
* Practical skills in software updates and vehicle repair trials; knowledge of Electric and Hybrid systems is advantageous
* Proactive, flexible, independent problem-solver
* Experience or competence in technical authoring; familiarity with CAD, HTML, XML, and authoring software is desirable but can be trained
Key Responsibilities:
* Gather relevant information following requests for technical documentation, demonstrating understanding of the topics
* Create and maintain technical documentation in appropriate formats, ensuring quality standards are met
* Use illustrations, imagery, CAD, and graphics to enhance information delivery
* Verify the accuracy of the information through digital sign-off and physical validation when necessary
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing clear and detailed updates and presentations
* Update technical documentation promptly following engineering changes, ensuring correctness
* Meet deadlines and KPIs, ensuring documentation complies with legislative standards
