Job Description
The Associate Manager, Global Procurement is a professional role reporting directly to the Senior Director, Global Procurement. The role involves managing logistics categories, developing strategies, and driving cost-saving initiatives across Mattel's supply chain, including distribution centers, 3PL, drayage, outbound transportation, and related services. The position requires collaboration with Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Sourcing stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and support Mattel's goal of becoming a World Class Strategic Sourcing organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage end-to-end RFI/RFP processes, including vendor selection, negotiations, and stakeholder communication.
2. Develop category strategies based on data, market trends, and company objectives.
3. Create analytics and identify savings opportunities through operational data analysis.
4. Lead contracting and negotiations with suppliers, ensuring cost savings and stakeholder requirements are met.
5. Forecast category spend, align cost assumptions, and reconcile actual spend with financial targets.
6. Manage supplier relationships, focusing on strategic suppliers and engaging with senior management.
7. Share best practices within the Global Procurement Logistics team to improve effectiveness.
8. Review contracts regularly to mitigate risks and identify procurement opportunities.
9. Promote and support the use of the Coupa e-sourcing platform across the team.
10. Ensure legal documentation compliance within Coupa for Europe.
11. Develop and maintain a Logistics Road Map projecting activities for 3-5 years.
Qualifications
Required Skills
* 3-5 years of strategic sourcing experience
* BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
* Proven relationship-building abilities
* Experience presenting to senior management
* Collaborative team player with influencing skills
* Project management expertise
* Excellent communication skills
* Negotiation proficiency
* Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
* Fluent in English
Preferred Skills
* CPM or similar certification
* Background in CPG
* Financial acumen
* Experience with legal contract development
* Knowledge of Coupa CSO and Contracting Modules
* Willingness to travel up to 10%
* Customer service experience
* Leadership or team management experience
