Design Manager / Senior Design Manager - Construction Contractor
Location: Bristol, South West

Responsibilities
1. Understand client requirements and output specifications.
2. Coordinate with the Pre-construction Manager to ensure pricing assumptions align with the design development.
3. Monitor design progress, ensuring accuracy and completeness at each stage (ITN Phase / PB Phase / Construction Phase).
4. Ensure all resources for design coordination are appointed.
5. Prepare monthly reports for Design Leads.
6. Oversee design compliance, buildability, and efficiency; support the bid process.
7. Lead the sign-off process for design documents.
8. Develop and validate the Design Management Plan (DMP).
9. Create the Project’s Document Management Procedure in line with TEC.CMP.05.
10. Endorse Consultants’ DMPs and define their objectives.
11. Manage the flow of design information and document control processes.
12. Support procurement and commercial teams.
13. Represent the company at stakeholder meetings including clients, local authorities, and users.
14. Coordinate technical input to develop a robust design.
15. Manage environmental certification processes (e.g., BREEAM, CFSH).
16. Oversee or participate in the design transfer from preconstruction to construction stages.
