Programme Name: Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST)

Location: Bristol

The Role:

Leidos is looking to recruit a vitally important role within the Operations Team; Readiness Manager. The post requires the successful applicant to be responsive for all operational planning for Leidos support to contingent operations, particularly planning for a Strategic Base Outload into Europe in support of NATO.

The successful individual will be responsible to the Head of Operations for engagement with all Military Commands (MC) to understand their requirements, refine their demand signals and understand the implications for Leidos, communicating across Leidos business areas on their role within those plans.

The successful candidate will be ex-military, staff trained and experienced on military logistic planning and execution, ideally with operational experience. The post requires the individual to develop a deep knowledge of Leidos’ logistic information systems and their inter-relationship with MOD Log IS to ensure Leidos delivers the MOD’s supply chain requirements on operations. The position requires physical presence on the floor plate in DSCOM most of the time, with some WFH options as well as a willingness to travel to MC and Leidos depot locations. He or she must be prepared to undertake CONDO training and be medically fit to deploy, if required, forward with operational logistic HQs on large-scale exercises and, if necessary, operations.

The post requires a sharp, analytical mind, an appetite for hard work, a proactive, collegiate mindset working with our uniformed colleagues, an ability to work in a small, close-knit operations team based in Abbey Wood and a sense of humour.

Team Leidos Strat Base Outload Planning Manager

The Readiness Manager is responsible for ensuring that Team Leidos is poised to support the deployment of contingent UK forces at pace and scale. The role requires cross‑organisational coordination between Leidos, MOD stakeholders, and internally to Team Leidos mission partners. This position leads high‑priority issue resolution, manages time‑sensitive logistics tasks, oversees compliance, and prepares senior decision‑makers with clear and actionable operational intelligence.

The incumbent will report to the Team Leidos Head of Operations and be embedded in DSCOM, specifically DSCOM Plans.

Functions include:

* Operational Readiness. TL lead for planning a Strategic Basse Outload (SBO) and TL’s support to Op FORCEFUL through DSCOM. Plan and lead rehearsal of concept drills across all stakeholders to ensure all elements are aligned and aware of their requirements and limitations during an SBO. Work with DSCOM Plans to develop and refine NATO Force Model (NFM) Plans to be cognisant of TL capabilities.
* Issue, Risk & Escalation Management. Monitor and track risks to an SBO from Team Leidos and impacts of changes from the MoD to understand risks/issues.
* Stakeholder Engagement & Communication. Support Defence SBO planning by participating in Tabletop Exercises (TTXs) across stakeholders from MoD Main Building to Formation level.
* Data, Systems and Asset Management. Be conversant and knowledgeable regarding current MoD Logistic Information Systems and their roles. Work with the TL Operational Analyst to further develop the FORESIGHT SBO modelling tool. This also incudes engagement with COSSAC to understand and model demands against the NFM commitment.
* Operational Planning & Support. Provide operational planning and support to planned activities and large-scale exercises through DSCOM Plans and engage directly with units to ensure service provision. This includes provide SME advice during the planning stage as to the most effective way of designing the support solution.
* Multi-modal knowledge. Responsible for planning and delivering large scale TL rail delivery projects for Defence in support of operations and exercises.
* Supply Chain Coordination. Support the TL Ops Manager and Ops Coordinators conducting the ‘EXECUTE’ phase of an SBO, effecting a 24/7 TL Ops capability
* Project Management & Operational Delivery. Act as the Operational lead for TL support to large scale activities/exercises performing a Plans to Execute function

Key Skills and Competencies:

* Mature and experienced to enable clear and accurate communications to all stakeholders, from unit level through to 4* such as Mil Strat HQ and Military Commands
* Self-motivated and driven to ensure a proactive approach with limited direction/guidance from Hd Ops
* Highly proficient with all MS Office applications and able to generate clear, concise and accurate briefs to inform senior stakeholders, up to and including Defence Policy
* Comfortable working across all domains, particularly Land
* Understanding of the RMC finance model
* Project management qualification would be beneficial.

Clearance Requirements:

* Must hold or be eligible to apply for SC clearance to start

* Be eligible to apply for DV clearance in future

Pay Range:

£54,600.00-£70,000.00
