2ND LINE SUPPORT ENGINEER at Free-Work UK – FT onsite, Hursley, Winchester. 12‑month initial contract. Requires shift patterns of 7am‑7pm and 7pm‑7am, with a schedule of 4 days on, 4 days off. IR35 status: inside.
Role Description
The Duty Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain processes. This position requires a detail‑oriented individual who can handle various tasks related to inventory management, equipment maintenance, and quality control. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, excellent problem‑solving abilities, and a solid understanding of supply chain principles.
Required Skills
* Handle incoming technical support incidents, requests and changes.
* Manage personal call queue, ensuring calls are closed in a timely fashion.
* Provide updates and maintain ongoing customer communication.
* Resolve calls ranging from simple password resets to complex server queries.
* Escalate calls to 3rd Line Team as necessary.
* Work as part of a close‑knit and highly skilled team of Engineers.
* Provide excellent customer service.
* Collaborate with other internal teams (3rd Line Technical Delivery Teams, Development, Projects, etc.).
* Perform software builds/re‑builds on PCs and laptops as required.
* Fix hardware faults and install upgrades to client hardware.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years unbroken UK residency.
