Overview
We work closely together with our clinical colleagues within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and provide a wide range of services, generating a broad and varied cellular pathology workload. This includes specimens from dermatology, gynaecology, head and neck, lung, breast and gastrointestinal, including bowel screening specimens. Together we will provide and develop a wide ranging cellular pathology service to primary, secondary and tertiary care colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Provide and develop a wide ranging cellular pathology service to primary, secondary and tertiary care colleagues.
* Opportunity to participate in the coronial autopsy for all Consultants (optional element of the job plan).
* Develop a specialist interest to complement the existing team, according to RCPath workload points.
* Lead Pathologist for Molecular pathology and work closely with the All Wales Genomics service.
* Active teaching and training of medical and laboratory staff.
* Collaborate with immunohistochemistry department, seeing a constantly expanding IHC repertoire.
Qualifications
* Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
* Applicants who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care Visa or a Skilled Worker Visa unless they already hold permission to work via another route.
