This is an exciting opportunity for a talented leader and manager. The Senior Facilities Manager plays a lead role in managing the delivery of hard and soft facilities management to our customers on a day-to-day basis. This involves leading a team providing operational oversight, of the services delivered by our industry partners. The Senior Facilities Manager will provide motivational leadership, managing operational and technical challenges, and empowering team members to perform at their best. Additionally, the role requires effective collaboration with industry partners, customers, and other DIO departments. A key area of focus is to reduce asset down time by providing proactive asset management advice to Customers, so they fail less often; and when they do fail, they are fixed quickly to minimise impact. These positions are based at RAF Lossiemouth and Kinloss Barracks and due to the nature of the role, we can only consider candidates who are able to commute to these locations. * Lead team of Facilities Managers to manage the day to day on site delivery of hard and soft facilities management.
* Contribute to the leadership and management of the DIO Area North team and support the business priorities of the Scotland and Northern Ireland Region.

* Accountable for the appropriate use of budget and resources to deliver operational outputs while demonstrating value for money.
Site Safety & Compliance
* Monitor that all services meet policies and procedures, assets such as buildings are safe and compliant or have robust mitigations in place, escalating issues as appropriate.
* Promote and support the development and implementation of positive health and safety culture and environment.
* Ensure relevant site safety management plans are provided.
Stakeholder Engagement & Customer Service
* Act as a key customer interface and facilities management subject matter expert by facilitating the explanation of complex or technical issues in a way that the customer can understand.
* Provide an active presence on site to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, site users and key stakeholders.
* Lead a range of governance meetings, to ensure the contracted level of service is delivered.
Contract Management & Decision Making
* Contract manage key suppliers and monitor performance, escalating or cascading where appropriate using available information to inform decision making.
* Review and update all site risks monthly, ensuring they are documented on the Risk Register and have mitigation plans in place.
* Ensure Hard and Soft facilities management audit checks are being undertaken to certify contracted services are delivered to the required standard.
Programme Management & Delivery
* Be the facilities management interface for projects being delivered and support the development of future works plans and programming.
* Be the primary point of contact for delivery of delegated works and projects, working closely with the contractor to monitor progress of works against projected in year delivery, highlighting any programme issues as appropriate and provide related reports as required.
* Work closely with all stakeholders to resolve programme issues, agree required rectification plans, reporting progress and escalating as appropriate.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. The successful candidate will lead the engagement with customers via key meetings, promote a culture of safety first, delivering value for money and expert advice and oversee particularly complex sites with a wide range of buildings and infrastructure while providing support and direction to the Facilities Managers in their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in property and facilities management with knowledge of asset management, planned and reactive maintenance together with smaller construction projects. Management of soft facilities including assuring that the catering, retail and cleaning service is delivered to the required standard. A proved experience of managing facilities management suppliers and stakeholder engagement would be beneficial. Key skills include good inter-personal, communication and presentation skills, being a persuasive influencer who can confidently and articulately make an argument in support of a position with an analytical mindset with the ability to assimilate a wide range of data sources to inform decision making. Also key is strong leadership and people skills to inspire and motivate and develop teams to deliver high quality results.
