A high-performing and forward-thinking secondary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated and inspiring English Teacher to join its successful English department on a full-time, permanent basis from September.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will be passionate about literature and language, committed to raising attainment, and capable of creating a stimulating learning environment that supports all learners.
The Role
1. Teach English across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
2. Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons
3. Monitor and assess student progress effectively
4. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment and extracurricular activities
5. Work collaboratively within a supportive and well-established department
The Ideal Candidate
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it (ECTs welcome)
7. A degree in English or a closely related subject
8. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English education
9. Excellent classroom management and communication skills
10. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
