Overview
Hospitality & Chef Teacher role at Activate Learning (Reading College Campus). This is a permanent, full-time position.
We are looking for a chef to teach and support Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Culinary Arts provision within the Activate Learning Hospitality and Catering department. You will be responsible for the delivery, assessment, and tracking of student achievement for the courses. This role offers an opportunity for an individual with passion and drive to enable students to unlock their potential and engage with learning. Our catering offering is developed in partnership with Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck Group.
What you need to be successful:
Responsibilities
* Teach and support Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Culinary Arts provision.
* Deliver, assess, and track student achievement.
* Engage with industry partners to provide work placements, apprenticeships, mentorships and masterclass demonstrations.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie is essential.
* A PGCE is desirable; prior experience teaching in education is essential.
* You should have a Level 3 or above in Hospitality and Catering.
* Teaching experience is required; background in teaching is essential. We will support continued professional development in the FE sector.
* Strong communication with industry partners is required.
Desirable
* Patisserie qualification (desirable).
* Teaching, assessing, and IQA qualifications (desirable).
