Purpose
RSSL is customer focused, science led and results driven. The Wet Chemistry Services laboratories perform a wide range of analyses for a variety of food, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and support Mondelez research and innovation.


Role

Technician – responsible for performing a range of routine analyses to ensure that projects are completed effectively and meet customer contractual agreements. Perform chemical analyses and report work in accordance with quality standards. This role focuses on the analysis of products using wet chemistry techniques.


Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities

* Technical: Provide high quality customer service by effectively organizing workload, ensuring integrity of analytical data and timely/accurate provision of results.
* Perform a range of routine analyses using wet chemistry techniques under supervision of a senior member of staff.
* Perform analytical work following study protocols or pharmacopoeia.
* Operate basic lab equipment as directed.
* Proficient in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role (LIMS, Q-Pulse).
* Perform lab administration and housekeeping duties as directed.
* Be prepared to work in different laboratories as required by demand.
* Communication & Influence: Work as part of an efficient analytical team.


QEHS (Quality, Environment, Health & Safety)

* Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by following COSHHs, risk assessments and SOPs.
* Complete assigned quality actions in a timely manner.
* Assist with documentation of SOPs for simple equipment and tests and generation of Risk Assessments and COSHH.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
* Understand and work to GMP and UKAS requirements.
* Ensure training records are accurate.


Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Language

* Degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent laboratory experience.
* Good understanding of basic lab equipment.
* Accountable, honest, hardworking and able to work in a team.
* Flexible and adaptable to meet customer/business requirements.
* Meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic and quick to learn.
* Well organized and able to work on multiple activities concurrently.
* Computer literate in standard MS Office applications.
* Scientific understanding and ability to conduct chemical analysis under supervision.
* Experience of working in a regulated environment.
* English fluency (written and spoken).
