At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.
We are professionals with purpose, beating cancer every day. But we need to go much further and much faster. That's why we're looking for someone talented, someone who wants to develop their skills, someone like you.

This is an opportunity to join Cancer Research UK's Employee Relations (ER) Team of 8. The ER team (and wider HR department) play an essential role in engaging and inspiring Cancer Research UK's large and dynamic workforce of hundreds of shops and 2,500+ office staff across the UK by delivering operational transformation, governance, and an employee experience that enables us to be an inclusive, sustainable, and agile organisation.

As an Employee Relations Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth and timely management of ER cases across the charity. You'll collaborate closely with ER Specialists and HR colleagues to provide high-quality administrative and casework support across a range of matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance, sickness absence and wellbeing. You will also provide first-line advice to managers and colleagues on ER issues via a central email inbox.

You'll help ensure our processes run efficiently by preparing documentation, supporting investigations and formal meetings, maintaining accurate case records, and helping to collate information for hearings and employment tribunals. Your work will contribute to creating a fair, consistent and supportive experience for employees and managers, helping to uphold our policies and compliance with employment law.

By the end of this contract, your legacy will be to have made a meaningful contribution to improving the employee experience at Cancer Research UK, helping to create an environment where people feel supported and enabled to do their best work. If you're an experienced ER or HR professional with strong administrative skills and experience supporting a high-volume ER case in large organisations, we'd love for you to join our mission.

* Arranging hearings and sending invite letters for disciplinaries and appeals.
* Accurately recording and maintaining case information, ensuring that all paperwork is of a professional standard and meets GDPR and data protection regulations.

* Updating the Casework Tracker to ensure that we can track and report on the volume and nature of the cases we are managing.
* Analysing customer feedback survey results, sharing findings with the team.
* Maintaining the training matrix for ER‑delivered sessions, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
* Staying updated on employment law, regulations, and external trends to aid with compliance.

What skills will I need?

* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach to supporting HR colleagues and employees at all levels.
* Clear verbal and written communication skills with experience drafting and writing ER letters.
* Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with a track record of effectively managing multiple tasks, while adhering to deadlines and working autonomously with minimal supervision.
