Senior SEND Caseworker
Knowsley Council is seeking an experienced and committed Senior SEND Caseworker to join our Education and Inclusion Service and play a key leadership role within our SEND team.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and supervise a group of SEND Caseworkers, providing day‑to‑day leadership, professional guidance and quality assurance of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Manage a complex caseload, act as a point of escalation for disputes and complaints, and prepare cases for mediation and tribunal where required.
* Ensure statutory processes are delivered to a high standard, within timescales, and in line with legislation and best practice.
* Deputise for the SEND Team Manager, contribute to service improvement, and support team development through supervision, training and performance management.
* Work closely with children, young people, families and multi‑agency partners.

* Confident in decision‑making.
* Passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
* Strong knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and extensive experience of statutory SEND casework.
Working Conditions
* Flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours or part‑time options are usually available.
* Attendance at the work base at least two days per week.
* No sponsorship available for this role.
Benefits
* Salary: £47,181 – £48,226 per year.
