We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Energy Manager to join our Property Services team. This is a key role at the heart of our organisation — ensuring that communal energy supplies are accurately managed and fairly charged is essential to both our financial sustainability and our commitment to great customer service. By leading our SMART meter programme, improving billing accuracy, and driving down energy waste, you’ll play a critical part in helping us deliver high-quality, cost-effective housing services to our residents. What's the role? Ensure that all our communal supplies are identified and that those using the supplies are paying a fair contribution. Undertaking regular audits to assess the consumption and to identify and quickly resolve issues that compromise our ability to accurately recover. Working with residents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to improve the quality standards of our estates. What you'll be doing Manage, develop, and implement Curo’s SMART meter project, upgrading all meters where possible. Manage and implement a team change process, supporting better information at handover of upcoming communal utilities. Conduct impact analyses of energy used, working with key stakeholders to ensure accurate billing. Manage our Energy Broker(s), demonstrating robust contract management ensuring outcomes are achieved through a framework of strong quality assurance. Deliver a robust inspection programme, monitoring and reporting on progress to improve accuracy and inform annual budgets. Procure energy when contracts expire, ensuring we lock down with the best deals available for Curo and our customers. Lead and deliver initiatives that provide a diverse range of opportunities to reduce the energy used, and subsequently costs. Develop partnership working within Curo to deliver flexible, reactive, and swift solutions to customer and service issues. What do I need to be successful? Proven experience managing multiple contracts successfully. Strong customer service background in complex, multi-user environments. Commercially aware with a focus on value, efficiency, and excellent service. Skilled in leading process changes and driving continuous improvement. In-depth knowledge of energy law, regulation, and best practices. Experienced in building effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Track record of delivering customer-focused services in challenging settings. Technical expertise in energy management. Confident decision-maker with strong negotiation skills. Calm and determined when resolving conflicts. Solution-oriented problem solver. Clear and accurate communicator, adept at reporting complex information to diverse audiences. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, risk assessment, and sound judgement. Excellent communication skills, able to handle sensitive and complex information across all levels.
