HSEQ Manager
Location: Stevenage
Our client is a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across various sectors, including the pharmaceutical and biopharma industry. With a commitment to safety, compliance, and quality, our client ensures the efficiency and availability of assets, reducing maintenance costs.
The HSEQ Manager is a site-based role, responsible for providing HSE support, guidance, and driving a positive safety culture. Collaborating with the site HSE Manager and Regional HSE Manager, the HSEQ Manager is instrumental in implementing the company strategy and improving the Safety Management System and processes. Additionally, the HSEQ Manager works closely with the Client HSE team to uphold health, safety, and environmental standards.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the development project/site HSE plans
2. Manage stakeholder relationships regarding HSE matters
3. Provide competent health and safety guidance
4. Conduct frequent site monitoring and auditing for legal compliance
5. Work with site team members, ensuring effective audits and timely follow-ups
6. Engage with site personnel and client representatives
7. Drive safety culture through coaching, interventions, toolbox talks, and training
8. Identify areas for improvement in products, services, and HSE performance
Routine Duties:
9. Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures
10. Maintain the BMS system, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures
11. Review, amend, and update safety documentation
12. Record accidents, incidents, and near misses, conducting root cause analysis
13. Disseminate HSE information and provide guidance to site teams
14. Conduct HSE audits, inspections, and provide training as required
15. Develop and contribute to a strong HSE culture
16. Deliver safety information to the Senior Leadership Team and attend client meetings
Experience & Qualifications:
17. Auditing/Inspection experience
18. Incident Management & Investigation, report writing
19. Significant experience in HSE Legislation
20. NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
21. Grad IOSH Status (essential)
22. NVQ 5 / NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
23. Experience in the Life Sciences industry
24. CDM Regulations Experience
25. Management System Standards and improvement planning
26. Knowledge of Industrial Services Sector and Petrochemical Industry
27. Competent in delivering training
