Location: Yorkshire Region (Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, York, Hull) Remote working with regular travel to Yorkshire Water sites and offices, typically 2-3 days a week
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. + Overtime
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Technician ICA to join the Engineering Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

ICA Engineering sits within the Engineering Team in our Asset Delivery department and has accountability for all Instrumentation, Control Systems and Automation within the Yorkshire Water across the whole project lifecycle. As well as governing our C&I assets we have a programme of work to the value of ~£70m across AMP8 to ensure our assets remain regulatory compliant and resilient to provide safe drinking water and protect the environment.
The Project Technician ICA will be work alongside our Engineers, Project Managers and Technicians to develop the relevant standards to which the company will operate and deliver projects to those standards.
The role could suit an experienced C&I Technician either looking to continue in an exciting environment or to develop and progress in The Engineering Team. Continuous training is available to support this development and maintain experience with the latest technologies and industry standards.
Where you fit in:
As our Project Technician ICA you will have;
* Experience of integrated process control systems and automation
o Instrumentation
o PLC & HMI/LOI systems (Programmable Logic Controllers & Human Machine Interfaces / Local Operator Interfaces)
o SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) applications
o Site data networks
o Demonstrate a site safety culture, cyber security and process safety.
* The ability to read, understand & apply technical documents such as loop diagrams and electrical drawing.
* Ability to complete Document Templates of a technical nature (eg ICA Workbooks, Network Topology, IO Lists, etc)
* Experience in FAT, SAT & commissioning Control & Automation systems in a process environment.
* Supervising, supporting and working with supply chain contractors on operational sites.
* Provide Technical Support to Engineers and Project Manager
What skills & qualifications you will need:
* A formal electrical/Instrumentation qualification: National Certificate (HNC/ONC) or similar.
* Experience with PLC control systems (Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Schneider).
* Experience with instrumentation and control loops in a process industry environment.
* Qualifications and experience to facilitate YW Electrical Authorisation (LV).
* Can make changes to and diagnose issues with PLC, HMI, SCADA, Instrumentation and understand the need for change control.
* The ability to develop in a collaborative team environment.
* Current valid driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region.

* Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload.
* Ability to understand risk issues on site as well as construction risks.
* An understanding of the principles of control of works - Permits, POWRA, RAMS etc.
* An understanding of the principles of Construction Design Management (CDM).
