Job Duties:
* Assist the teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
* Support individual students with their learning and development in line with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP)
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students to help them achieve their educational goals
* Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies to create a positive learning environment
* Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to implement effective support strategies
* Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEN
* Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support students with SEN
Education:
Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Teaching Assistant training desirable
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
* Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students with SEN
* Organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
* Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
* Training in specific interventions for supporting students with SEN
Working Conditions:
* Working hours: Full-Time, temporary position
* Work primarily within a classroom setting, providing support to students with SEN
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals in the educational setting
* Potential involvement in extracurricular activities or school events

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
