My client, an established architectural practice in Cardiff are is looking to welcome a talented Part II Architectural Assistant to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid post‑Part II experience who’s ready to take on more responsibility, work across all RIBA stages, and continue developing toward Part III.
You’ll be joining a supportive, collaborative studio working on a diverse mix of residential and commercial projects, with plenty of scope to grow your technical, design, and project delivery skills.
The Role
As a Part II Architectural Assistant, you will play an active role in project development from early concept through to technical delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting projects across all RIBA Stages (0–7)
Preparing and developing planning proposals
Producing high‑quality presentation material using InDesign, Photoshop, SketchUp, etc.
Assisting in the preparation of detailed working drawing packages and specifications
Working within a BIM environment, utilising Revit and other industry software
Ensuring design work aligns with UK Building Regulations, CDM obligations and BSA requirements
Collaborating with the wider team while also managing your own workload confidently
About You
We’re looking to speak with candidates who can bring both creativity and technical capability. The ideal candidate will have:
2 + years’ experience in UK practice working within the residential sector
Proficient with Revit (essential)
Experience preparing planning submissions and understanding of space standards
Confident presentation and visual communication skills
A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
A proactive, organised approach with strong attention to detail
What’s on Offer
Salary likely to be in the region of £30,000 - £34,000 dependent on experience
