Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver learning – design and deliver inclusive, high-quality lessons, create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs, and provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress.
* Support learner development – guide academic and personal development through tutorials and pastoral care, maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.
* Enhance curriculum and quality – keep course content current and aligned with industry standards, contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
* Collaborate and uphold standards – work with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience, promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
* Monitor student retention and progress, implementing timely interventions to ensure all students meet their targets.
* Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, external agencies and colleagues within the curriculum and support teams.
* Drive high standards in teaching and learning, fostering an environment conducive to student success.
Qualifications
* A relevant subject qualification (degree or equivalent).
* A recognised teaching qualification.
* Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
* The ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.
* Knowledge of subject-specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
* Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
* Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
* A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.
* Ideally, an honours degree and a post-16 teaching qualification, or a commitment to achieving these within an agreed timeframe.
* Experience delivering effective education/training in FE, HE and/or apprenticeships with a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.
