As Engineering Manager, you will lead the development of new products, manage improvements to existing product lines, and ensure engineering processes meet the company’s technical and commercial objectives. You will collaborate closely with the wider management team, taking an active role in strategic planning and ensuring engineering projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Core responsibilities
* Managing a team of electronic, mechanical, and software engineers
* Leading product development projects from concept through to release
* Driving product improvements, compliance, and lifecycle support
* Working with external partners, collaborators and suppliers on technical projects
* Contributing hands-on engineering expertise in your specialist field
* Leading planning and budgeting for the engineering function
* Supporting continuous improvement in processes and methodologies
* Playing an active role in the company’s management and strategic planning
About you
* Proven track record in engineering or R&D leadership, ideally within a small or mid-sized business
* Degree-qualified in a relevant technical discipline, with recent hands-on engineering experience
* Strong background in managing projects, people, and resources in an R&D environment
* Excellent organisational and project management skills
* Collaborative leadership style with the ability to coach and mentor staff
* Experience of planning, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement
* Knowledge of sensing technologies, agronomy, or environmental science would be an advantage
