* Location: Stratford, London – office-based with high flexibility, 1‑2 days per week in office

Recruitment Process
Two competency‑based interviews with an exercise, scheduled from the week commencing 09 December 2025. We operate an anonymised shortlisting process to support equality, diversity and inclusion.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development and delivery of strategic category plans aligned with CRUK’s mission to beat cancer, ensuring measurable impact and long‑term value.
* Manage and mentor a team of 4‑5 Category Managers, fostering a high‑performing, inclusive and development‑focused culture.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the charity, building trusted partnerships to understand needs, influence early engagement and co‑create procurement solutions that enable teams to achieve objectives.
* Champion effective and ethical supplier relationship management, ensuring high performance, innovation, sustainability and long‑term value across key contracts.
* Oversee complex, high‑value procurement projects, delivering on time, within budget and aligned with organisational priorities and governance standards.
* Promote and communicate procurement strategies and outcomes, influencing senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to embed best practices and strategic thinking.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements and ethical standards, supporting audit readiness and governance.
* Represent procurement internally and externally, enhancing the team’s profile and contributing to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
* Harness data and insights to inform decision‑making, track performance and drive procurement excellence across the organisation.
* Support the ongoing transformation of CRUK’s Procurement team by delivering both reactive and strategic improvement initiatives that streamline processes and enhance value.
Required Skills & Experience
* Significant category management experience owning sourcing processes from end to end.
* Ideally experience within the charity, public or healthcare sector; applicants from alternative industries welcomed.
* Strategic experience delivering procurement strategies, planning and sourcing.
* Track record of leading and managing teams of ~4‑5 direct reports with ability to empower, motivate, coach and drive high performance.
* Credible, collaborative stakeholder and senior‑leadership relationships with strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
* Resilient leader with experience driving change and navigating ambiguity.
* Result‑oriented, proven to deliver projects, achieve measurable outcomes and make informed decisions.
* Proactive problem‑solving mindset, continuous improvement focus, encouraging innovation and challenging conventional approaches.
* Knowledge of contract law, procurement regulations and sustainability practices.
