Scope and Purpose of the Job
To act as the Technical implementation lead for AV implementation projects prior to and during implementation.
Working with Operations staff, ensure projects are delivered Right First Time with timely management of technical risks, issues and actions.
Principal Tasks/Accountabilities
1. From Project Initiation Meeting act as the primary project co-ordinator to ensure the Client provides the required information in a timely manner such as IP address ranges, firewall changes, room layouts, and any FM dependencies
2. To be the Project lead engineer on significant projects to deliver on time and to the contracted specification, supervising primarily sub-contract engineers (to ensure compliancy with VP-AV implementation standards) and any specialist suppliers (note: attendance throughout a 2-week installation programme, for example, will not always be required).
3. Tailor installation test plans and thoroughly test prior to handover to the System Commissioning Engineer.
4. Working independently or with specialist Commissioning engineers ensure that the AV Control, audio/DSP and video conferencing systems are correctly commissioned
5. Assist with the production of RAMS and O&M documentation
6. Post implementation to assist with the efficient resolution of any service events relating to the implemented system; ongoing support involvement may be required
7. Out of hours PAVA installation work will be required on an ad hoc basis (late evenings or Saturday working) working alongside our PAVA Manager
Technical / Personal Specification
1. Strong technical education and formal training in audio and AV technology
2. Extensive professional AV Project Lead experience and competency, including planning and execution, DSP commissioning (especially Biamp), control programming and AV network design & configuration.
3. Demonstrable service support skills, capable of identifying the root cause and implementing solutions
4. Good communication skills, both written and oral, to explain complex technical issues to clients. Able and willing to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
5. Logical, analytical approach to problem solving.
6. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage in stressful situations.
